A Wild Boar Caused A Frenzy At Alamanda Mall, Putrajaya

A wild boar caused panic for shoppers at Alamanda Putrajaya. Putrajaya Fire and Rescue station chief Shaari Abdullah said they received the call at 12:38pm.
Eight personnel and two fire engines came at 12:47pm and chased the wild boar out of the building. “The animal then headed towards the Precinct 16 rugby field and the case has been handed over to Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) Wildlife Division for further action,” he told Bernama.
Videos and photos of the wild pig causing chaos in a sports shop went viral on social media. Shaari said that a wild boar shooting operation was held every Sunday at the Federal Government Administrative Centre.
He requested the officers involved to contact PPj wildlife division whenever a case like this arises. This is to ensure that the Fire and Rescue department will facilitate monitoring as well as ensure everyone’s safety.
Alamanda Shopping Centre has released an official statement regarding the incident, assuring that the store affected has been temporarily closed until further notice for cleansing work in accordance with Islamic rituals facilitated by JAKIM.
It also stated that the common areas in the mall where the boar has contact come into with have been cleaned and sanitised thoroughly. The shopping centre will remain open as usual.
