When we talk about “Pepsi watches”, the conversation almost always circles back to Rolex. That iconic red-and-blue GMT bezel has defined the look for decades, and any other brand daring to use the same palette inevitably ends up in Rolex’s shadow.
But Seiko’s changing the rules. For once, we’re not just talking about a “Pepsi-coloured” watch. We’re talking about a true Pepsi watch.
The most fun release of the year, in our opinion

Yep, Pepsi and Seiko have officially teamed up for a limited-edition collaboration, and it might just be the most fun watch release of the year.
Two new Seiko 5 Sport models are set to drop on 5 September 2025, both proudly carrying the Pepsi name and logo on their dials and case-backs. That, in itself, is a pretty big deal.
But these aren’t just a couple of Seikos borrowing a popular colour-way; they’re Seikos wearing Pepsi branding as a badge of honour.

The first model, the SRPL99, is pure nostalgia on your wrist. It’s inspired by ’90s Pepsi branding, rocking a bright blue, red, and white colour scheme, complete with a retro Pepsi logo at 6 o’clock.
At just 38mm in size, it’s a refreshingly wearable watch—a throwback to the compact sizing of classic Seiko divers. Plus, it captures the fun, slightly cheeky spirit of the SKX era without looking like a Rolex tribute or replica.

It comes with special packaging that resembles a Pepsi can, driving home the retro vibe even further.
The second watch, the SSK047, takes its design cues from Pepsi’s sleek modern identity. Coming in a black-coated 42mm case, a GMT function, and the current Pepsi logo stamped on the dial, it feels properly sharp and contemporary.

The watch basically embodies the current Seiko identity: a reliable traveller’s tool watch that doesn’t cost a fortune, but still manages to carry some personality.

And through the display case-back, you get a glimpse of the automatic 4R34 movement beneath a bold Pepsi logo.
Are these Seiko Pepsi watches more “legit” than other takes on red-and-blue bezels?

I’d argue yes. Not because Seiko ever needed Pepsi’s blessing—they’ve been doing playful, colourful bezels for decades—but because this collaboration gives the colour-way a sense of authenticity and fun that no other brand has touched.
It’s not just nodding to Pepsi, it is Pepsi.
And that’s where it gets interesting. Rolex will always own the prestige “Pepsi GMT” space, no question.

But let’s be honest: most of us don’t have Rolex money for a watch we just want to wear to the bar, or on holiday, while cracking open an actual can of Pepsi.
That’s exactly where Seiko shines. These are the watches you can enjoy without ceremony; without the anxious need to baby them like they’re national treasures.
Limited to 7,000 pieces each worldwide, the watches aren’t pretentious. They’ve got history, colour, and charm, and they’re attainable in a way Rolex simply isn’t and can never be.

So are these Seikos the “real” Pepsi watches to get? In spirit, I think so. They’re fun, collectable, and don’t take themselves too seriously.
Seiko has given us something Rolex can’t: a Pepsi watch for the people.
