Team Malaysia: World Champion Stackers 3 Years in a Row

When it comes to speed stacking, Malaysia’s got it down to a fine art—and last weekend, they proved it once again by clinching their third straight win at the 2025 World Sport Stacking Championship in Switzerland.

The latest win makes it three consecutive years as world champions, and that’s no fluke. It’s pure skill, focus, and immense determination to retain the crown.

Our champion squad—Chan Keng Ian, Luw Tze Hin, Liew Zi Hin, Brandon Low, Wong Jun Xian, and Woo Xin Yi—absolutely crushed it in the International Challenge event. In a sport where a split-second slip can cost you the crown, Team Malaysia’s coordination was tighter than the lid on a brand new Tupperware.

And they didn’t stop there. Chan and Woo, two of Malaysia’s top stackers, also snagged world titles in the doubles events.

Meanwhile, Carthur Lee stacked his way to second place in the All-Around event, where competitors race through different stacking sequences like the 3-3-3, 3-6-3, and the ever-chaotic Cycle event.

In a heartwarming highlight, Malaysia’s Umar Idris and Nur Farizah Zulaikha dominated the Special Stacker All-Around category.

The World Sport Stacking Association (WSSA) describes special stackers as individuals who have a “diagnosed physical and/or mental disability that would impede with the normal functioning necessary to perform a variety of physical skills.”

What’s the big deal, you ask?

Stacking isn’t as easy as it looks. The sport demands an absurd level of hand-eye coordination, muscle memory, speed, and mental focus.

Think of it as a sprint, a dance, and a chess match rolled into one, but with cups flying at breakneck speed. Stackers spend hours perfecting how to build and collapse their towers in patterns faster than you can even blink.

The victory in Switzerland is even sweeter knowing that our team crushed the local circuit earlier this month, where over 300 competitors gathered at i-City Mall for Malaysia’s final showdown before the world stage.

That intense practice paid off—and now, the Jalur Gemilang flies proud and high in Switzerland. Three years, three world titles. Team Malaysia isn’t just stacking cups—they’re stacking wins.
