Casio & UNO Release a “Wild Card” Watch That Screams 1970s Nostalgia
Casio has teamed up with Mattel to bring you a fusion of 1970s charm and nostalgia in the form of the vintage-inspired Casio A168WEUC-1A, which brings the classic card game UNO to your wrist.
A “Wild Card” of sorts
The collaboration uses the Casio A168 as a base, on which you can see an UNO motif prominently featured on the bottom right corner of the watch face.
But if you’re eagle-eyed, you’ll also notice the red, blue, yellow, and green “Wild Card” colours bordering the screen. A fitting choice (and hand) for a card game-inspired watch.
The case is ion plated in gun metal grey, while the band features black ion plating. It’s also complemented with a buckle that has a subtly engraved illustration of the back of an UNO card. Like any Casio A168 watch, there’s also bright illumination when you press the EL Backlight button.
But in this case, you’ll also see the word “Wild” appear on the LCD.
To top it all off, the watch’s case back features a beautiful engraving of the UNO logo, as well as three of the game’s cards — 1, 6, and 8 — arranged in order of the watch’s model number.
The watch comes in special packaging decorated with classic UNO colours, as well as other playful design elements.
Where to get your hands on one
The watch retails for RM549. You can find it on the official Casio website (but at the time of writing, it’s sold out there), all authorised G-SHOCK stores, G-Factory, and authorised dealers.
