Cop Who Assaulted Woman In Lift for Not Finding Him A Match on Dating Site Shifted To Admin Job
In case you missed it, over the weekend, a video went viral of a police officer assaulting a woman in an elevator by hitting her over the head.
The video was caught on CCTV and the identities of the individuals involved have been discovered.
The assailant was identified as a 35-year-old corporal detective stationed at the Selangor police headquarters while the victim has been named as a matchmaker.
The reason for the assault was because the culprit had paid the matchmaker RM2,500 to find him a partner through a matrimony website but after 6 months of no news, the corporal detective assaulted her by slapping her in the head in the lift of her workplace building.
The victim sustained serious head injuries and was admitted to the hospital.

Now, the assailant has been moved from his detective job to an administrative job while the investigation is still being held by police in Kuala Lumpur, according to Selangor police chief Arjunaidi Mohamed.
The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
If convicted, the suspect faces a prison term of up to one year, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both.
