M’sian Woman Spends 2 Hours Everyday Feeding Over 100 Stray Cats & Nursing Them Back to Health
For about a year now, Nor Izyan Syahidah Rosli has been dedicating at least two hours of her day towards stray cats at Pantai Cahaya Bulan in Kelantan.
Every day, more than 100 cats, some of which have been abandoned by their owners, await for her arrival. With every visit, she bears a handful of food to feed them.
“The first time I came here, I brought along two kilogrammes of cat food, and it was snapped up in a short time,” she told Bernama.
Since she witnessed the cats struggling to find food with her own eyes, she took it upon herself to do something about it.
She also said that the cat food is supplied by Dady Oyen Strays Malaysia which is responsible for supplying cat food to stray cat feeders and rescuers in Malaysia.
Being a graduate from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) with a bachelor’s degree with Honours in Social Science (International Relation), Izyan also treats the injured stray cats.
“Apart from food, I also bring medicines such as antibiotics, painkillers, vitamins, immune boosters and supplements as there are some cats that need treatment for diseases such as flu, fever, eye sore, diarrhoea, ringworm, as well as those affected by sporotrichosis and parvovirus,” she added.
Izyan also stated that she would bring the cats to the veterinary clinic herself when necessary. “If the cat has mild symptoms of pain, I will treat it myself but if the disease is severe, I will take it home and then take it to the Veterinary Clinic,” she said.
Izyan will continue her dedication to take care of the stray cats and hopes that the public will be kinder to cats and not dump them.
