PHOTOS: Artist Creates Beautiful & Intricate Art Carvings On Fruits & Veggies
While we all just think fruits and veggies are… well, fruits and veggies, Japanese artist Tomoko Sato takes the ordinary, everyday food and turns it into beautiful works of art.
As someone who appreciates art, Sato’s unparalleled skill, creativity and an eye for detail truly makes her pieces unlike any other. However, as a skilled fruits and veggies eater, that is one apple I would just want to frame.
Sato visited Thailand back in 2004 where she fell in love and learned Thai’s traditional carving craft, known as kae sa luk. She then returned to Kyoto and shifted from woodworking to carving fruits, professionally.
Now, she turns your normal watermelon, cucumber and even sweet potato into works of art with beautiful intricate details, symmetrical patterns and out of this world, trippy shapes. Oh, and she does it all by hand!
Take a look at some of Tomoko’s work that is not only nice on the eyes, but also great for the tums:

Well, if you really want to flex at your family dinner or even a wedding ceremony, having carved fruits like this will surely wow them. They better not eat them though ’cause that looks expensive as hell.
