Good news folks, the government has announced that two family members are now allowed to go out during Movement Control Order to get necessities or to seek medical services.

This is according to a new federal gazette on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measured within Infected Local Areas) (No.4) Regulations 2020, dated 28 March, which takes effect today until 12 May.

The gazette states that a person may be accompanied by one family member staying in the same house to buy necessities as well as seek healthcare or medical services.

The 10-km radius limit to buy food and other necessities still applies, however, if such food, medicine, dietary supplement, medical services or other necessities are not available then travel beyond that distance to a place nearest to one’s residence is allowed.

Those who violate the regulation shall be liable to a maximum fine of RM1,000 or jail up to six months, or both.
