The ‘Oh No’ Webcomic that Is Perfect for Adulting

As we argue about “Why is millennial humour so weird?”, a lil’ pink blot becomes a true Internet gem (meme) – reflecting our lives as a lackadaisical nihilist yet thriving millennial in a sick, sad, world.

This splatter of pink hue that somewhat resembles a “human bean” hails from a comic known as Webcomic Name, or better recognised as the ‘Oh No‘ comic. Described by Alex Norris, the mastermind of Webcomic Name, as badly-drawn characters and formulaic jokes; and of course, the trademark catchphrase ‘Oh No’. This two-worded infamous punch line is an attempt to respond to the banalities of adulting, as well as an annihilation of the anxious and confused self.

Fittingly introduced in this messy state we live in, Webcomic Name‘s black humour comes naturally as a logical and expected reaction. This mini colour blob gives us a breather from this Black Mirror-esque century, reminding us that it’s okay to have a laugh at the absurdity of life.

Still, we can never get enough of these smol ‘Oh No’ creatures. Because despite its satirical and mockery nature, deep down we can be comforted by the mutual understanding and underlying message from this comic series, knowing that we aren’t the only ones that feel ever so miserable.
