303 Party-Goers at Massive Pool Party Issued Compounds Amounting to RM1,565,000
While recreational activities have been open for business for a while now, it doesn’t mean that we can throw caution to the wind, especially with the presence of the Omicron variant.
Despite that, a total of 303 people were detained at a massive pool party at a renowned private club following a police raid.
The crowd, that included many in swimwear, were in the midst of partying when police arrived at the location.
According to Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor, 161 foreign men, 55 foreign women, 31 local men and 56 local women were detained.
The raid was conducted at about 10:50pm on Sunday (December 5). It involved 150 officers and personnel from Kuala Lumpur CID and Brickfields district police headquarters.
The party had an entry-free of RM60 each, attendees were invited through social media.
87 of the locals detained were issued compounds for violating SOPs while the foreigners were brought to Brickfields district police headquarters for further investigation.
The Kuala Lumpur Narcotic Crime Investigation Department personnel also conducted urine tests on the party goers.
ACP Amihizam said the club’s manager and the party organiser were issued with RM25,000 compound notices each.
A total of RM435,000 in compound notices were issued to the locals while RM1,080,000 in compound notices were issued to the foreigners.
The full total of compound notices amounted up to RM1,565,000.
