In true ZUS Specials style, the brand didn’t just launch its latest creation at a boring location—it turned a traditional herb store into the coolest media launch event in town.

It’s an unusual choice, but it makes perfect sense when you meet their latest rebrand: Coffizz Sparkling Coffee Brew by ZUS.

A new kind of fizz—bright, crisp & bubbly with a hint of real coffee extract

At the root of it, coffee has become too serious, and it’s now regarded as a mandatory productivity tool rather than something fun. Coffizz, however, is the antidote to the mundane: a casual drink for casual moments, a little shot of “unboring” when the day starts to drag.

Coffizz isn’t exactly coffee. And it isn’t exactly a typical soft drink either. Instead, it sits somewhere in between—a lightly caffeinated, carbonated drink made with real coffee extract (and now, real lime juice too, thanks to the newly introduced Zesty Lime flavour).

The idea sounds strange on paper—coffee that doesn’t taste like coffee, fizzy but smooth—but somehow it works. Coffizz has a refreshing, tangy, almost creamy and zingy aftertaste, best served ice-cold as the ultimate refresher and even better when mixed with things like juices or ice cream. It’s a drink that doesn’t fit neatly into any category, which is exactly the point.

“We’re always looking for ways to innovate beyond just traditional formats of coffee. So, Coffizz was designed to tap into a younger market of carbonated soft drink consumers and not-so-serious coffee drinkers.

“The brand is built around the concept of ‘Unboring’, inspired by the product consumption experience thanks to the ‘zing’ in its aftertaste. When you need a little extra ‘zing’ to make things interesting, Coffizz makes a boring thing unboring,” said ZUS Coffee Business Lead, FMCG & Lifestyle, Ng Chun How.

To celebrate the release of this exciting new flavour, ZUS Specials launched Coffizz at the most unconventional yet nostalgic spot, a traditional herb store

By hosting launch events in these old-school spaces, they’re not just creating memorable experiences; they’re breathing new life into these establishments and reintroducing them to a new wave of consumers. It’s the perfect symbol of community and culture.

Throughout the event, local creatives and artists took over the backdrop of the herb store, turning a familiar setting into something a little unexpected, much like Coffizz itself.

“Coffizz is available in all the main convenience stores, petrol kiosks, and kedai runcits. Wherever you can think of, you can find Coffizz there. So, it’s widely accessible and available everywhere,” he added.

The rebrand, with a sharper identity and broader lifestyle positioning, aims to capture a wider audience, including those who don’t necessarily identify as hardcore coffee drinkers but are still looking for something a little different that is far from the ordinary.

With more pop-up events planned across the country and a growing community of curious drinkers behind them, Coffizz seems to be carving out its own lane—one that’s fizzy and definitely unboring.
