Young Siblings Found Dead In Each Other’s Embrace After Picking Durians

In a devastating discovery, two young siblings in Lampung, Indonesia, were found dead while embracing each other after going missing on 14 May.

The children, aged 8 and 4, had reportedly gone to pick durians from a nearby farm earlier that day.

The incident took place in the village of Dusun Teba Langgar, located in the Pesisir Utara district of Pesisir Barat. Before leaving, the children had informed their parents about their plan to search for durians.

When they failed to return by evening, worried villagers joined the family in a search effort.

Their lifeless bodies were found around 10.30 p.m. in a sloped area near a ravine. Both children had suffered severe injuries.

One had a hand completely severed while both had deep gashes to the head. Authorities believe the wounds were caused by a sharp weapon.

“These injuries point to the use of a sharp object. One of the victim’s hands was found at the scene,” said Senior Commissioner Pahala Simanjuntak of the Lampung Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

Pesisir Barat Police Chief AKBP Bestiana confirmed that the case is being treated as a murder.

Investigations are ongoing as police work to identify the attacker and uncover the motive behind this horrific act.
