In the wee months of 2011, it appeared that the supreme beings of indie had smiled upon Singapore, gracing them with the presence of Foals, Warpaint, Beach House and Deerhunter (amongst others) for the inaugural Singapore Laneway Festival. Now, the stars have aligned once again to bring the Australian festival back for a sophomore round in 2k12. Each year the lineup of St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival gets bigger and better, and this year is no exception. Set to play at the Singapore branch of the festival next February are:
ANNA CALVI, AUSTRA, CULTS, FEIST, GIRLS, LAURA MARLING, M83, THE DRUMS, THE HORRORS, THE PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART, TORO Y MOI, TWIN SHADOW, WU LYF and YUCK!
The festival is notorious for it’s expertly chosen lineup, never failing to balance certified buzzbands, with fresh talent on the cusp of making in big; it’s like an infallible 2012 acts-to-watch-out-for list.
We have a total of 3 pairs of festival tickets up for grabs, valued at over $270 SGD per pair (and um, if you’re not familiar with the conversion that’s about RM660+, phwoahhh). Which is mad generous, but then again, at JUICE we always are.
Date Sunday 12 February 2012
Venue Canning Park, Singapore
Not forgetting the festival’s modest beginnings as a party held in a laneway (despite retaining the name, its massively outgrown its former venue) to score tickets, just answer the following question:
If you had your own music festival, where would it be held and why?
Send your answer along with your full name, IC and handphone number with the subject ‘Laneway Festival Singapore’ to firstname.lastname@example.org before 25 January 2012.
Winners will be notified 27 January 2012.
