What Went Down: 7aste Tokyo @ Zebra Square

7, 7, 7 is definitely the highlight of 7aste Tokyo. That’s because this is the 7th destination on the 7th year of 7aste. The guests touched down at “Narita” at Zebra Square, Kuala Lumpur and you can see in each of their excited faces that they were all pumped up and ready to party the night away! There and then, we can see an array of colours – we hear music creating the first rush of adrenaline – the welcoming sound of drums honouring guests, ushering each and every one of them in to the party – in just a glimpse, the biggest ever 7aste celebration has begun!

And just as the sun sets, the party roared! Neon signs, a concoction of futuristic elements and a babel of chatter greeted party-goers. As the environment was upright engaging, the crowd was equally amazing as well; they knew exactly what they needed to do as they headed straight into “Ginza”, the most luxurious district in the world, where a selection of sushi canapés and free flow of drinks await. The signature blue and gold 7aste Tokyo sake cocktails, labelled Brain and Ginza were served to conjure a twist of uniqueness for all guests to enjoy. The VIPs on the other hand, look stunning with their exclusive 7aste VIP lanyards and a bottle of complimentary Japanese whiskey. Special tatamis were prepared outdoor at an area decked just like “Shinjuku” for them to spend their entire night away glamorously. At 8.30pm, the ambience switched to hyper-party mode and cameras began to flash simultaneously from all directions as the first highlight of the event presents the majestic Japanese Taiko drummers followed by the Geisha fusion dancers. This brought the notch up as their every move was exotic with a mix of raw energy.

As the party continued, the hosts for the night, Josiah Mizukami and Stephinie Tan did not give way to boredom. They injected the crowd with a “welcome to the party boost” and ignited a remarkable celebration. All in all, 7aste Tokyo crafted astounding senses that encapsulated the richness of experience; combining sight, sound, taste, touch and aroma just to showcase the perfect party blend. Full-fledge entertainment accentuated the quintessence of the theme as line-ups featured 7aste dancers performing Beat Boys freestyle, contemporary music, and interactive games such as 7aste Pachinko, Tokyo Drift and Purikura. To top it off, these arrangements ruled the night at “Shibuya” Street!

Mademoiselle Yulia a.k.a. Lady Gaga of the East along with DJ Faith are both forces not to be reckoned with. They manifested the stage and conquered the dance floor. Party-goers went wild with excitement, moving along to every single beat, hence capturing a chapter of everlasting memories with each ongoing song and music. Overall, the event was more than captivating as 7aste generously gave away hot prizes from Panasonic, Sony, Evisu, Bandai, Onitsuka Tiger and Casio. And once this sensory current has rolled over, everyone who attended the party will remember its intensity!
