Love, Beauty and Planet has a new line called the Clean Oceans Edition

In this series, the shampoos are sulfate-free, which means that they won’t strip your hair of its natural oils, keeping it healthy. It’s a good option for people with sensitive scalps as it’s less likely to cause irritation.

Love, Beauty and Planet’s hair products are also suitable for those with colour-treated hair too. The lack of sulfates can prevent your hair colour from fading, so your locks will stay lustrous for longer.

This series has two ranges:

1. Marine Moisture
The Marine Moisture range is infused with blue-green algae (yep, you read that right!) and has an invigorating eucalyptus scent that will leave you feeling rejuvenated.

2. Deep Restore
The Deep Restore range is infused with sea-salt for a good scalp detox that will restore your hair’s health. Scented with ethically-sourced Italian bergamot, its sunny, sweet aroma is sure to leave you feeling refreshed.

If you struggle with an oily scalp, frizzy, dry, or limp hair, this range may be exactly what you’re looking for

Hello, I’m Fionaa 😀 I’ve got thick, curly shoulder-length hair that gets pretty wild and frizzy when it’s humid. My scalp can also get a little oily depending on how hot the weather gets.

For one week, I switched out my normal hair products for Love, Beauty and Planet’s new Ocean Series.

Would it really help with scalp oiliness, frizz, and dry hair problems like mine? I was about to find out!

Here’s what you need to know about Love, Beauty and Planet’s new Clean Oceans Edition range:

1. Go gentle on your hair with Love, Beauty and Planet’s sulfate-free shampoo

Both shampoos came in the form of a transparent liquid that wasn’t very sudsy when I lathered it up on my hair – which is pretty normal for a sulfate-free shampoo because it’s less harsh than its other counterparts. Although I have thick, shoulder-length hair, I had no issues working the shampoo into a lather using only a 50 sen coin-sized dollop.

My favourite was the Marine Moisture shampoo. Since it has blue-green algae, my mane felt really hydrated after using it! Blue-green algae are known to be loaded with proteins and vitamins, which will definitely boost your hair’s condition in the long run.

On the other hand, the Deep Restore shampoo has sea-salt and really cleansed my scalp of all the sebum build-up without stripping too much of my hair’s natural moisture.

2. Hydrate your tresses with their moisturising conditioners

As for the conditioners, both of them had a creamy, mask-like consistency. But, what’s great about Love, Beauty and Planet’s conditioners are that it never left my hair feeling oily or weighed down after washing it.

The hair conditioners also spread really nicely on my wet hair and did a really good job at taming my frizz-prone locks. It also loosened up any knots with ease and left my hair smooth and tangle-free.

Also, did you know their conditioners are created with patent-pending, fast-rinse technology? Thanks to Love, Beauty and Planet’s brilliant scientists, they have concocted a conditioner that breaks down fast when it comes in contact with water. That way, you can cut down on water wastage. Pretty kewl, huh? 😀

However, there is one thing that I think could be improved. The conditioner is really thick and luscious, which makes it hard to squeeze out of the bottle. Kinda wish they used a tube packaging instead. Other than that, it’s great for me. 😀

3. Have fresh-smelling hair all day long with their beautifully-scented products

OMG, guyssssss. THEY. SMELL. SO. GOOD.

What I really liked about both ranges is the fact that their scents aren’t cloyingly sweet. I’d even go out on a limb and say that they smelled pretty unisex and neutral. The shampoos and conditioners had a clean scent that left my hair smelling great all day!

The Marine Moisture range smelled really comforting and relaxing. The eucalyptus and sea-salt scents went well together, and I caught a whiff of rich florals over musk, with a slight woody edge to it. According to Love, Beauty and Planet, the eucalyptus essential oil is carefully extracted from the leaves of the plant using hydrodistillation during the harvest season in China (September – February).

I, however, really enjoyed the Deep Restore range. The aromatic combination of sunny, citrusy Italian bergamot meshed really well with the oceanic floral top notes. However, there was also a hint of driftwood and a salty tang to the scent that added a great contrast. LOVE IT.

Pro-tip: Let your bathroom steam up before you use the products. Thank me later (;

4. Join the cause to save Mother Earth – one hair wash at a time 😀

Every year, 8 million metric tons of plastics enter our ocean, on top of the estimated 150 million metric tons that currently circulate in our marine environments ):

That’s why it’s really awesome that the Clean Oceans Edition shampoos and conditioners from Love, Beauty and Planet are Unilever’s first line of products packaged in 100% ocean-bound plastic.

Ocean-bound plastic is usually found in close proximity to coastlines, beaches, and waterways that would likely have ended up in the ocean 😀 WE STAN ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY PACKAGING.

Both ranges of shampoo and conditioner come in a transparent bottle with a turquoise blue cover, which really brings out the ‘ocean’ aesthetic. Super pretty!

Here’s how my hair looked after hair wash day:

My hair felt really soft and clean! There was some volumising action, and my wild untameable mane was definitely less frizzy as well.

10/10, would totally recommend 😀
