It appears that the government announcing free RapidKL rides for 1 month  last week, wasn’t enough. The public is still concerned over lifts and escalators at certain stations that still need fixing.

The Sri Rampai LRT station recently got their escalator repaired after being damaged for a long period of time, but some people just woke up and chose violence.

A teenager was caught on camera, vandalising the newly repaired escalators. Check out the video here:

CCTV footage of the Sri Rampai LRT station was uploaded by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur on Facebook yesterday a group of teenage boys, one of which decided to press the emergency button for no apparent reason.

According to the caption on the video, the escalator was just recently fixed and fully operational again for everyone’s convenience.

However, the actions of this teenager caused everyone to believe that the escalators has not been repaired yet. The admin categorised this as an act of vandalism, due to reckless usage of the emergency button.

“We’re not sure what the teenager’s intentions are but what he did is considered vandalism,” the admin wrote.

Naturally, the Facebook post gained traction and people expressed their distaste for his behaviour.

So far, there has been no further updates by the Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur Facebook page regarding the situation at the time of writing.
