WATCH: Season 2 of Narcos Mexico Shows That No High Lasts Forever
“A white storm is coming”
Fans of the hit series will be glad to hear that Narcos: Mexico returns on 13 February, expanding upon the story of Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, leader of the Guadalajara Cartel and founder of the modern Mexican drug trade.
Netflix has recently released an action-packed trailer for the show’s second season where old faces, as well as new ones, make an appearance.
From the quick transitions of previous seasons’ characters – Amado ‘the Lord of the Skies’ Carillo and Pacho of the Cali Cartel to sneak peeks of mugshots showing alleged Tijuana cartel members, it seems that all the stories of previous seasons will be aligned into a singular timeline.
Check out the trailer below:
Judging from the trailer, Season 2 of Narcos: Mexico will continue to depict Miguel Angel’s meteoric rise to the top of the Mexican Drug Trade in the wake of the previously dominant Colombian cartels of Cali and Medellin, this time adding other Mexican cartels to the mix and a heightened interest from the law.
While viewers will witness his various highs and lows, it’s believed that this might be the closing chapter of Miguel Angel’s tenor as cocaine’s top kingpin.
It’s important to remember that much of the content deals with real life characters and events that actually took place which despite sounding restrictive, gives ample room on the Narcos universe to be expanded upon.
How big of an impact will the growing presence of the DEA and other up-and-coming cartels pose on the ruling Sinaloa Cartel? Will Miguel Angel crumble when the heat gets turned up? Tune in to find out..
Narcos: Mexico Season 2 returns to Netflix on 13th February 2020.
