WATCH: M’sian YouTuber Who Makes Among Us 3D Animations Has Over 1 Million Subscribers
If you’re an avid social media user, you’ve probably seen hundreds of memes and videos involving colourful Telly Tubby-like figures clad in spacesuits. These are the players of Among Us, an online multiplayer social deduction game that is quite similar to the classic, Mafia or Werewolf.
While the game has skyrocketed in popularity over the past few months, Malaysians were quick to join the bandwagon and recently, a Malaysian YouTuber took it to the next level!
A college student Afiq Aiman, who is behind the AAC Dream YouTube account, has uploaded five videos so far of 3D animations based on the game and has collected more than 1 million subscribers! His earliest Among Us-themed video was only posted 2 weeks ago and each of them accumulated at least 1.2 million views.
Among the five videos, his highest-performing video was his first one, which has 3.9 million views at the time of writing. Watch it, here:
Afiq told Cilisos that these 3D animations aren’t exactly “originals” and credited several creators of 2D animations for the ideas, but you can’t deny that his 3D work is remarkable! He also mentions that he isn’t a one-man show and has a team consisting of an animator Putera Syafiq, marketing manager Azhar Masli and web developer Aiman Nasrullah.
“Remaking these videos is part of my learning process. It’s all done at home with my own PC… My target audience is mostly gamers who wanna watch their favourite characters in real life or be animated in short animations,” said Afiq.
Make no mistake, cause this isn’t his first rodeo as he previously uploaded a video based on the game Temple Run in 2018 which currently has a whopping 169 million views. Power weh… make sure to subscribe!
