WATCH: Jared Leto Transforms Into a Living Vampire in Morbius

Sony just dropped the teaser trailer for Morbius, which stars Jared Leto as the enigmatic antihero. For those of you not familiar with the Midnight Sons’ corner of the Marvel Universe (home to Ghost Rider and Blade among other dark, scary heroes), the titular character Michael Morbius is a genius scientist who accidentally becomes a monster while trying to find a cure for his rare blood disorder.

Although Morbius is vampire-like, he’s not supernatural like Dracula, so throwing garlic or showing a mirror to him won’t work. Yup, he’s biologically cursed, not supernaturally.

There are a couple of references to a larger storyline in the trailer such as the graffiti of Spider-Man (in Toby’s suit!) with the tag ‘Murderer’, implying this movie takes place after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home. And look who’s back… Birdman lead Michael Keaton as Vulture has a cameo as well.

To be honest, Venom was a letdown so I’m cautiously optimistic about this movie. If this movie turns out good and the timeline and continuity makes sense, Sony could actually make a Sinister Six movie that would actually work.
