Ultraman has been a favourite amongst Malaysians for decades. In fact, we even have our very own Ultraman Ribut that made his first appearance on Upin & Ipin season 8, where he helped the children extraordinaire fend off an Alien invasion and saved our city, Kuala Lumpur.

For Malaysians, this Japanese superhero has always been relevant and according to Marvel, they are teaming up with Tsuburaya Productions to produce Ultraman’s stories to comics and graphic novels starting next year!

“As one of the world’s most popular franchises, Ultraman has brought together some of the most passionate fandoms in pop culture today, and we can’t wait to bring his story to even more fans around the globe,” said Marvel’s editor-in-chief, C.B. Cebulski.

“Like Marvel, Ultraman captivated generations by telling spectacular stories grounded in the real world, and it continues to be a beloved classic through its television shows, movies, toys, games, comics, and more. We are so thrilled to introduce new chapters to the Ultraman Multiverse next year”, he continued.

So far, there are no creative teams announced for Marvel’s Ultraman series but.. we still can’t wait to see how Ultraman will fit in the Marvel universe with its brand new stories.

Back in 1966, Ultraman became one of Japan’s most prominent superheroes. For over 50 years, various incarnations of Ultraman have lived on TV, manga, and even video games but this might be the most iconic one yet!
