Over 700 Malaysian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have collectively generated RM28 million in sales on TikTok Shop after taking part in upskilling programmes organised together with the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP).

The milestone was highlighted during the recent TikTok Shop Bazar Raya, where visitors had the chance to browse and support a wide range of homegrown brands.

The event featured more than 80 seller booths and also saw appearances by popular names including Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza, Khairul Aming, Khai Bahar, Erra Fazira, Mierul Aiman, and Eira Syazira.

Beyond the festive atmosphere, the bazar also marked a big moment for the 700 MSMEs that had gone through TikTok Shop’s incubation programme.

With the help of structured training and digital tools provided through the collaboration with KUSKOP, these businesses were able to grow their presence online and collectively surpass RM28 million in revenue.

Interestingly, women make up 74 percent of the participating sellers, showing how the programme has opened doors for more women entrepreneurs to thrive in the digital space.

Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Steven Sim Chee Keong pointed to this strong female participation as a sign of the initiative’s wider impact. He said KUSKOP remains committed to helping local entrepreneurs strengthen their businesses by equipping them with the digital skills needed to compete and grow in today’s economy.

Nur Azre Abdul Aziz, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at TikTok Shop Malaysia, said the partnership with KUSKOP is built around a shared goal of helping local MSMEs scale sustainably online.

She added that TikTok Shop’s discovery-driven e-commerce ecosystem allows businesses to reach new audiences while supporting more inclusive economic growth.

Beyond the bazar itself, the collaboration has also been building longer term support for entrepreneurs.

TikTok Shop LIVE Hubs in Sabah, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, and Kelantan have already hosted more than 100 in-person training sessions, reaching over 3,000 MSMEs. These hubs have also supported more than 1,800 hours of livestreaming, which have collectively generated over 40 million views.

There are also plans to expand the LIVE Hubs to Pahang and Penang, giving even more entrepreneurs access to training and professional livestreaming facilities.

For many of the MSMEs involved, the bazar and training programmes were not just about making sales, but served as a chance to showcase how Malaysian businesses are adapting to the digital landscape, learning new skills, and turning online opportunities into real growth!
