Good news, Malaysians! After the success of last year’s AYAM LEJEN–a curated event that highlights the ever famous and ever green ayam goreng–the plucky food fest is back for a second round!

The event will giving us ten lejen-dary local vendors, each with their own unique take on fried chicken. We can’t wait to get our hands greasy! *nyums*

Spending the last 6 months tasting over 50 different fried chicken varieties in Malaysia, the organisers FriedChillies have definitely put in their share of work.. err, research into the matter.

With the heavy responsibility of curating the top 10 on their shoulders, FriedChillies-picked lejens this year are KyoChon, Familia Fried Chicken Kg Baru, Kimberly Street Belacan Fried Chicken Penang, Wak Kentut Kulai Johor and myBurgerlab.

Adly Rizal, CEO of FriedChillies, explained the goal of the food fest: “The point here is to sample each dish and to experience the many wonderful ways we eat fried chicken. In that sense, the right pairing makes all the difference. All our vendors have come up with the best kind of fried chicken that goes with their special sides and sauces, cementing their reputation as Lejens.”
