Ever heard of the old saying “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”? For the most part, a majority of you probably understand and might even agree with the statement.
But what happens when life gives you BULL SEMEN? For one man, that turned into something better than lemonade.
A farmer in Thailand’s northeastern region of Kalasin makes a monthly income of one million baht (RM131,041) from selling the semen of his prized water buffalo named Big Billion.
According to the Malay Mail, Mongkol Mongphet who owns Big Billion said he purchased the cow six years ago for 500,000 baht (RM65,077.68).
Breeders use Big Billion’s semen to artificially inseminate their female buffaloes to produce a new generation of buffaloes that will hopefully make millions just like their father.
Mongkol allegedly turned down an offer of 30 million baht (RM3.9 million) for Big Billion after winning many provincial beauty pageants.
Farmer Prompong Pimphao claimed to have used Big Billion’s sperm to fertilise his female buffalo named Boonrad.
He said that while she was pregnant, Boonrad’s skin changed for the better. He turned down an offer of 200,000 baht (RM26,023.14) for both mother and calf.
According to Prompong, Boonrad has subsequently given birth to a male calf that closely resembles its award-winning father.
Boonrad and her calf were offered to Prompong for 500,000 Baht, but Prompong plans to raise them himself because he wants the calf to become a top breeder like its father.
