Thirsty for JUICE content? Quench your cravings on our Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp

In case you missed our Insta story spam, JUICE paid GMBB a visit yesterday to witness Telur Pecah 3.0, the third installation of an art exhibition intended as a platform for local independent artists.

This annual event has truly evolved, now showcasing the work of 105 local artists and a staggering 600 artworks, a strong indication of burgeoning talent in our midst.

What struck us most was the brave and raw display of emotion embedded in each piece – masterfully plastered on plain white walls which allowed for a stunning extra contrast, while the atmosphere within the exhibition itself was electric, with fellow visitors sharing a silent sense of awe, their cameras desperately trying to capture the essence of what we were all feeling inside.

Telur Pecah 3.0 offered a variety of experiences. ‘1428: The Salon’ stood out, a vibrant melting pot of artistic styles representing every Malaysian state and federal territory. The Solo Showcases were equally captivating, with artists showcasing everything from palette knife art to innovative glue techniques.

Others included the Guest Artist Installations, whereby five visionary guest artists redefine creative limits through installations that provoke thought. Their artworks range from intricate papier-mâché wall art to the seamless fusion of digital and physical drawings. Then came Art & Health; embracing inclusivity and creativity, this category showcases the talent of 8 children, 6 youths, and 20 special needs artists. Their works not only celebrate diversity but also illuminate the transformative power of art.

Finally, we witnessed the Gallery Spotlight: Teaming up with Core Design Gallery, a prominent Malaysian contemporary art gallery in Subang Jaya, GMBB offers a unique perspective that elevates the art experience to new heights.

Whether you’re an art aficionado or simply a visitor who enjoys looking at pretty things, Telur Pecah 3.0 offers you a unique space to immerse yourself in the glory of local talent, artistic diversity, and of course – to get that effortlessly ‘aesthetic’ OOTD shot as well.

But what resonated most deeply was GMBB’s dedication to inclusivity. Lim Ying Xian, senior manager of GMBB’s programs & partnerships, emphasised the importance of breaking free from norms. It wasn’t just about admiring art; it was an invitation to challenge what we thought we knew about it. We believe the exhibition wasn’t just confined within the white walls; it transcended the canvas, seeping its way into our thoughts and conversations.

For those eager to explore art hands-on, Telur Pecah 3.0 offers weekend workshops led by artists from the Solo Showcase category. These sessions promise immersive experiences in traditional and new art techniques, providing a unique opportunity to learn from the very artists who brought this exhibition to life.

Telur Pecah 3.0 is a movement, an open dialogue between artists and the public, urging us to embrace creativity without constraints, and fostering a newfound sense of connection between every person and piece present at the venue.

If you’re curious, if you’re passionate, or if you’re just looking for something that stirs your soul, Telur Pecah 3.0 is the place to be. The exhibition will grace Level 3A from October 10th to November 12th, opening its doors from 11am to 8pm, with free admission.

Oh, and in the case where you come across piece that resonates with your very essence… Know that showcased artworks are available for purchase!
