Sultan Of Johor Arrives At Istana Negara
Prior to the special meeting with Malay Rulers scheduled for this 10.30 a.m. morning, the Johor Sultan has made an early arrival at Istana Negara, reportedly reaching the Palace at 9.40 a.m.
Yesterday, via a press statement, The Yang di-Pertuan Agong confirmed that His Majesty will meet with Malay leaders today to solicit their input on the choice of Malaysia’s tenth Prime Minister, according to Istana Negara.
While the process of electing a government is ongoing, the King has advised the populace to remain calm.
Parliament members from the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) were also asked to meet the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong yesterday. This follows earlier reports of Barisan Nasional (BN) Members of Parliament also being requested to make an appearance before the Agong at 10.30 yesterday morning, to reach a decision on who will be the next Malaysian prime minister.
Reports state that Chief secretary to the Government, Zuki Ali has also arrived at the Palace.
