British shoegaze pioneers Slowdive are set to perform in Malaysia for the first time ever on 4 December 2026, with the band scheduled to take the stage at Zepp Kuala Lumpur.

The concert, which kicks off at 8:00 p.m., will mark the band’s long-awaited debut in the country. Tickets officially went on sale today, 20 July, with prices starting from RM300.

Formed in Reading, England in 1989, Slowdive became one of the defining names of the shoegaze movement, building a reputation for their dreamy, atmospheric sound and immersive live performances.

The band’s early records, including 1991’s Just for a Day and the critically acclaimed Souvlaki (1993), helped shape the sound of shoegaze through layers of heavy reverb, delay, and distorted guitars. The result was a dense, wall-of-sound approach that became synonymous with the genre.

With their third album, Pygmalion (1995), Slowdive took a sharp turn, moving away from their guitar-heavy sound towards minimalist ambient pop and post-rock. The record incorporated digital looping and atmospheric textures, showcasing the band’s willingness to push beyond the boundaries of their established sound.

Following their reunion, Slowdive continued to evolve their sonic palette with their self-titled 2017 album and 2023’s everything is alive. While retaining the dream pop foundations that made them iconic, the albums introduced more contemporary electronic and ambient elements to their sound.

For their Malaysia debut, fans can expect an expansive journey through the band’s decades-spanning catalogue, from their shoegaze classics to their more experimental modern work.

  • CAT 3 (Regular Seat): RM330
  • CAT 2 (Premium Seat): RM360
  • VIP Box: RM3,600, limited to eight people per box
