Several Dewan Negara Staff Have Tested Positive For COVID-19

According to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law), Takiyuddin Hassan, several staff of the Dewan Negara have contracted the COVID-19 virus. As of right now, the parliament is currently deemed as a high risk area.

Since a few members of parliament may have come in close contact with staff over the past few days, there is a possibility that some might have been infected. They are currently under investigation.

Dewan Rakyat Speaker, Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun, said that parliament session will be adjourned at 1pm today (2 November).

The parliament has undergone sanitisation to curb the further spread of the virus.
