Ricky Martin Denies Allegations of Domestic Violence & Incest Relationship with 21-Year-Old Nephew
Ricky Martin has found himself in unwanted spotlight once again…
According to People, the Livin’ La Vida Loca singer denies a family member’s shocking allegations that he was in an incestuous relationship with his nephew for seven months.
The singer’s lawyer, Marty Singer has issued a statement to the magazine denying this accusation.
“Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been – and would never be – involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew. The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting.
We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts,” the lawyer said in a statement on 15 July.
ICYMI, a domestic violence-related restraining order was filed against Ricky in Puerto Rico earlier this month, but the alleged victim’s name was not made public.
However, on 13 July, the singer’s brother Eric allegedly claimed to Spanish publication Marca, that Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, Ricky’s 21-year-old nephew – is the alleged victim.
Eric also allegedly claimed that the Grammy winner “exercised physical and psychological attacks” on Dennis, with whom he was in a relationship for seven months.
Ricky then made a statement on Twitter writing, “The protection order entered against me is based on completely false allegations, so I will respond through the judicial process with the facts and the dignity that characterise me.
“Because it is an ongoing legal matter, I cannot make detailed statements at this time. I am grateful for the countless messages of solidarity, and I receive them with all my heart”.
