The first official trailer for Resident Evil has arrived, offering a first look at a terrifying new chapter in the iconic survival horror franchise.
Directed by Zach Cregger, the filmmaker behind Barbarian and the upcoming Weapons, the new film is described as an all-new story that reinvents the Resident Evil universe. The film is set to hit cinemas on 16 September and has been filmed for IMAX.
The film follows Bryan, played by Austin Abrams, a medical courier who finds himself caught in a chaotic, action-packed fight for survival after one horrifying night takes a terrifying turn.

Based on the trailer, Bryan’s seemingly ordinary night quickly descends into chaos as he is thrust into a nightmare filled with danger, violence, and the kind of relentless terror that fans have come to expect from the Resident Evil name.
The new film is directed by Cregger, who co-wrote the screenplay with Shay Hatten. The cast also includes Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, and Paul Walter Hauser.
Resident Evil is produced by Robert Kulzer, Zach Cregger, Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, Carter Swan, and Asad Qizilbash, with Oliver Berben, Victor Hadida, Richard Wright, and Robert Bernacci serving as executive producers.
