Hari Raya Aidilfitri is just around the corner, and with it comes the familiar warmth of celebration—the scent of kuih baking in the kitchen, the joyful reunion of loved ones, and the heartfelt exchange of salam as families gather to mark the end of the month of Ramadan.

It’s a season of renewal, a time to seek forgiveness, mend broken bonds, and embrace new beginnings with open hearts.

Beyond the feasts and festivity, Raya is a deeply emotional time—a reminder of love, sacrifice, and the ties that hold us together. And few things capture this essence quite like Raya commercials. Whether they make us laugh, cry, or reflect, these ads have a way of making us reach for a ply of tissue or feel a sudden pang of nostalgia.

Here are some of our favourite Raya 2025 ads

1. Watsons Malaysia—Raya Terunggul Watsons

Melati’s mother, Mama Rokiah, wants to remarry. She’s surprised to see that her soon-to-be step dad is Uncle Ropie. But things take a surprising turn when Uncle Ramli suddenly shows up, also vying for Rokiah’s heart. What ensues is a hilarious battle of wits. Who will be the victor?

2. Farm Fresh—Bawak Balik Yang ‘Itu’

This short film follows Amir as he struggles to find a menantu (daughter-in-law) to bring back home to his mother, though she just calls it “yang itu“. The humorous misunderstanding leads the poor dude on a search for a fake wife, and hilarity ensues.

3. Julie’s—Selamat Lari Raya

A man is determined to get the attention of his son, Johan, by any means necessary. If he has to commit petty theft and vandalism, so be it. But why? The reason behind this old man’s actions is more heartfelt and sincere than you might initially think.

4. PLUS—Kias Rindu

Siblings, Lia and Alif, struggle to find a balance between living their own lives and making time to see their parents, who constantly ask them for help with menial tasks—like fixing the WiFi or a “deflated” tyre. But maybe there’s a reason their parents keep asking for their help.

5. MR.DIY—Raya Penuh Makna

In this Wes Anderson-esque short film, Diyanna contends with a strict diet in the run-up to Raya, promising herself she’d only eat clean and healthy so she can look her best during the festivities. But she soon learns that Raya isn’t just about appearances.

6. Lalamove—Secukupnya Raya Ini

Teja and her father aren’t well-off. This means she doesn’t get to enjoy nice and expensive things like other kids. With her birthday coincidentally falling on the same day as Raya, this feeling of longing is even harder to deal with, especially since she’ll have to spend it working with her dad.

7. Adabi—Wawan, Habis Tu Aku Ni Siapa?

Wawan is a selfless man who makes sure all the elderly people in his kampung get to their hospital appointments on time. In a way, he’s like an adopted son for every mak cik and pak cik there. But only when he comes across stubborn old Mak Mah do we truly understand the reason behind his kindness.

8. PKNS—Kenal

Pak Kamal might come off as grumpy and judgemental, but he can’t help it. He thinks he’s spending Raya alone. When an unexpected incident occurs, he finds his new ‘family’ in a young couple who live nearby—an Indian man and a Chinese woman.

9. Spritzer—Raya Lebih Bermakna

Back at his grandfather’s house for Raya, Adam seems a little absent (both physically and mentally). His mother thinks he’d rather be somewhere else. But little does she know, Adam is going out of his way to make sure his ailing grandfather can still enjoy the festivities like he used to.

10. FamilyMart—Operasi Raya 2025

Cross-cultural hijinks ensue in this short film about a Malaysian family dealing with their Japanese in-laws. Both sides do their best (and a ton of research) in order to make Raya more accommodating for the other party. Let’s just say, if you’re a fan of anime references, you’ll enjoy this one.

11. Guardian—Serlahkan Perayaanmu dengan guardian!

In this bop of a music video, a family stuns their guests with their magical transformations (compared to the previous Raya). Glowing skin, excellent health, and an unapologetic confidence to reel in Hari Raya. What’s not to like about it?
