Public Lays Flowers At Bandar Utama School To Honour Slain Student

A tragedy unfolded at a secondary school in Bandar Utama on 14 October, when a 14-year-old student fatally stabbed a 16-year-old girl, leaving the community in shock and grief.

In the aftermath, members of the public gathered at the school to pay their respects. Several bouquets were seen placed by the front gate, symbolising sorrow and solidarity with the victim’s family.

One woman, whose child studies at the same school, told New Straits Times that she laid flowers to find “some closure” after the devastating event. Another bouquet carried a handwritten note that read, “May your soul rest in peace.”

Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar revealed that investigations showed the suspect had secretly admired the victim for years, though they were in separate classes and had never interacted.

He added that the weapons used—a knife and a karambit—were both purchased online by the suspect.
