Prada Crafts Fragrance Using AI To Fine-Tune Formula

We live in an AI-centric world now, whether you like it or not. That means big brands will want to jump on the AI bandwagon in some way, shape, or form, including fashion brands.
One such case is Prada. The luxury Italian fashion house has a wide selection of fragrances for both men and women, with the price tag of small 30ml bottles reflecting the luxury status of the brand. To some, it’s just not worth the money.
But what if you were offered a fragrance partly crafted by AI? Just take a look at the Prada Paradoxe Virtual Flower Eau de Parfum (EDP).
Introducing the ‘Jasmine AI accord’

The main focus of this EDP is the jasmine flower, which has your typical rich and sweet floral scents, mixed in with a bit of musk for a sensual flair.
But Prada is touting the EDP as more than a fragrance—it’s a unique exploration of florals through a novel blend of technology and human creativity. Crafted by master perfumers, the EDP presents a reinvention of the jasmine note, so to speak.
That reinvention comes in the form of a new note called the Jasmine AI accord, which was crafted by AI to fully capture the natural airiness of jasmine.

AI was used to analyse thousands of jasmine variations, resulting in a note that Prada claims perfectly replicates the flower in full bloom.
Other notes in the EDP include delicate neroli, ambrette, and an Italian vert de bergamot, making for a super comforting and long-lasting fragrance.

It’s a rather futuristic approach to fragrance making, and we’re pretty excited to see how other brands will fuse AI with their traditional products.
