PPBM Rep’s Face Printed on School Bags for the Needy, Claims it was an “Error”
In the latest viral news a.k.a. tweets, a user posted on Twitter about primary school students receiving free school bags with Jeram Assemblyman Mohd Shaid Rosli’s face and name printed on them.
Malaysians were outraged and claimed that he’s doing this solely for brownie points. Some even said that it’s a similar to what Barisan Nasional did when they visited schools.
Same mentality.
Just because they need the bags, doesn’t mean it’s okay to manipulate their needs for the sake of scoring some brownie points. pic.twitter.com/VD0PPu1ZKf

According to FMT, Shaid, who is the PPBM Selangor chairman, said it was a “misunderstanding” between him and the printing company in China and that he had no intention to put his face on the bags, but just a sketch of it. Hmmm… what’s the difference between a photo and a sketch of yourself, then?
“I ordered the bags while I was in China. It was an old order, about four months ago. We wanted something different but when the backpacks arrived, it was too late,” he told FMT.
Regardless of what people think, he said it has already happened and there’s nothing wrong about it. He denied that he was seeking popularity in helping out the needy.
Shaid confirmed that 1,000 school bags have been ordered and distributed to five schools in the Jeram constituency.
Well, we understand.. kinda.. so we’re gonna end this post with a song from ’90s alt band Toad The Wet Sprocket for you…
