The boyfriend of a restaurant waitress led police to discover a fetus burning in a bush at Pantai Sentral Park, Brickfields last Friday. Sources said it was revealed after the 22-year old woman was found treated at a hospital due to severe bleeding at 7:30am.

According to the sources, the doctor’s examination result suspected the woman had just given birth to a baby, but she claimed she was bleeding at home when she returned from work.

The woman claimed she didn’t know she was pregnant and had given birth to a baby, causing the doctor to suspect she was trying to hide the birth. The doctor who treated the woman then lodged a police report so the authorities could conduct further action.

Acting on the report, the police team conducting the investigation has detained the 22-year old boyfriend at a house in Bangsar at 6:30pm the same day. The suspect also admitted to the offence.

He then took the police team to the location where police found a plastic package with a fetus inside in a semi-burned condition. The fetus was then taken to the Universiti Malaya Medical Center (UMMC) for further inspection.

When contacted, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) Kuala Lumpur, Senior Asst Comm Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamin confirmed the arrest of the man for investigation, Harian Metro reported.
