The OPPO Find N5 Lets You Remotely Access Your Mac & ‘AirDrop’ Other iPhones

It’s a debate as old as the existence of modern smartphones. Android vs. Apple, two titans in the tech space that just seem to divide people. This writer is system-agnostic, though I’d be lying if I said my personal setup wasn’t skewed towards the beautiful walled garden that is Apple.
But that’s precisely the blessing and the curse: It’s great because sticking to one platform lets us enjoy a seamless user experience. But it’s also pretty crap because why can’t I have both and still have a smooth, fuss-free experience?
OPPO might just have an answer in the form of the upcoming Find N5, the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone—and it also comes with native MacOS integration.
As slim as a pencil, as light as a coffee cup

At just 8.93mm thick when folded, the OPPO Find N5 sticks to its promise as being the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone. When unfolded, it slims down even more to just 4.2mm, with enough space for a USB-C port tucked neatly into one half of the device.
The 6.62-inch OLED cover screen offers a crisp 1140 × 2616 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and an ultra-bright 2,450-nit peak brightness. This means you’re not gonna have to worry about it being too dim in direct sunlight. Once you open up the foldable, you’re met with a huge 8.12-inch OLED inner display at 2248 × 2480 resolution with the same 120Hz refresh rate and 2,100 nits peak brightness.

In terms of construction, the Find N5 is made of tough aluminium and even has an IPX8/IPX9 rating for water resistance. Other highlights include a three-stage alert switch (like the one on OnePlus devices), a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and stereo speakers for immersive audio.
Hasselblad-enhanced optics, stellar performance, and an efficient battery

As is usually the case with OPPO phones, the Find N5 is loaded with Hasselblad-enhanced cameras. This includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS, as well as an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
That’s not to say that your poorly composed shots of half-eaten lunch will look any better, but at least they’ll be high quality.
Powering the Find N5 is is the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm’s latest high-end chip, making it the first foldable to rock this processor. OPPO Malaysia is offering just one model—16GB RAM + 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.
Despite its ultra-slim frame, OPPO packed in a 5,600mAh dual-cell battery, split between both halves of the phone. It supports 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse wired charging, so you can top up other devices if needed.
MacOS integration is definitely a highlight

We could go on about the fact that the OPPO Find N5 packs a lot of smart AI features like text summaries, circle-to-search, and an AI image editor, but let’s be real. That’s not what makes this phone exciting.
Aside from its stellar build quality and ease of use, the OPPO Find N5 offers something no other Android device has—native MacOS integration. We’re not sure if this is an official partnership between OPPO and Apple, but you know what? We’re not gonna question it. Let’s just be thankful it’s even there.

With MacOS integration, you can use the OPPO Find N5 to remotely access and control your Mac (no matter where it is in the world). All you need is a stable internet connection and OPPO’s updated O+ Connect.
And since the Find N5 is a foldable, you can even use one half as your “laptop” screen and the bottom half as a keyboard when accessing your Mac.
It’s not the most ideal setup, but it’s definitely handy in a pinch—especially when you’re chilling on the beach in Cherating but your boss asks for some documents saved on your MacBook at home. Alternatively, you can set healthy boundaries with your employer.

Bonus: You won’t have to feel left out when your gang of iPhone-using friends takes pictures and wants to share them with everyone. OPPO’s O+ Connect lets your “AirDrop” to and from other iPhone users.
The OPPO Find N5 retails at RM7,999. Pre-orders are still open until 27 February. Click here to get yours now.
