Nur Sajat’s Assets Auctioned Off To Repay Debts, Goes To One Bidder For RM132K
An auction was held earlier today at the home of celebrity cosmetics entrepreneur Nur Sajat Kamaruzzaman, following a court seizure of her assets to pay off debts.
It was believed that a total of eight bidders were present at her Kota Damansara mansion, and had to pay RM5,000 as a deposit before participating.
After six strikes of the gavel, one unidentified male bidder won with a bid of RM132,000, reported Berita Harian.
A total of almost 40 items were sold together at the auction, and included home furnishings such as kitchenwares, sofas, a bedroom set, air conditioning units, as well as miscellaneous items, reported Astro Awani.
The auction was ordered by the Shah Alam High Court on 20 November, according to The Vibes, after Sajat failed to pay damages totalling RM200,000 in debts owed to two former business partners.
“Nurwati Hussin and Mohamed Syakir Hussin from OWA Resources, the main stockists of Sajat’s girdle business, took action to seize her assets after (she) failed to pay damages following the December ruling last year,” the plaintiffs said a statement.
The sum raised at the auction is still almost 70,000 short of the amount owed, and it is expected that more of Sajat’s assets will be seized for future auctions.
The original ruling, handed out by the same court in 30 December last year, had ordered Sajat to pay the full amount owed for breach of contract towards the defendants, reported mStar.
OWA Resources filed the suit after Sajat’s company Nur Sajat Aesthetic Sdn Bhd failed to provide the girdles, despite already being booked and paid for by other stockists.
