Millions of Books From Big Bad Wolf and BookXcess Stored At Shah Alam Warehouse Destroyed By Floods
An estimated 2 to 3 million books were damaged by flood water at the Big Bad Wolf Warehouse and BookXcess @ Wolf House bookstore in Section 33, Taman Alam Indah.
The recent flood that has killed 48 people so far, did not spare the millions of books either.
The co-founder of BookXcess and Big Bad Wolf Books, Andrew Yap said that the total loss was still being evaluated and that it would take some time to do so considering the huge damage.
“However, from the initial assessment, millions of books have definitely been damaged, destroyed and could not be salvaged along with some equipment in the warehouse,” he said.
Currently, the staff of Big Bad Wolf Books are cleaning up the warehouse to ensure that damaged books are removed to avoid mold from setting in.
“Only Wolf House, located at Section 33, Taman Alam Indah in Shah Alam is temporarily closed as it requires complete renovation due to severe damage,” said Yap.
Despite the damages at Wolf House, Yap said that they aim “to donate books to the surrounding communities that have been heavily impacted by flooding,”.
The team at BookCxess and Big Bad Wolf are looking forward to working with those within the vicinity of their warehouse and are welcoming the public to join their efforts.
The other 14 BookXcess bookstores nationwide, BookXcess Online and BookXcess and Big Bad Wolf Books on Shopee are still in full operations and taking orders.
