MCO 2.0 Extended With Stricter SOP in All States Except Sarawak Until 18 February 2021

Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced today that the Movement Control Order, which is set to end on 4 February will be extended for another two weeks with stricter restrictions.

The next phase of MCO will end on 18 February in all states. Most parts in Sarawak won’t be affected except several districts where MCO and enhanced MCO are implemented.

Ismail Sabri said details about stricter restrictions will be released in due time. He gave an example of like imposing limits on people entering a supermarket.

After new daily cases passed the 5,000 mark for several days, the recorded number of new cases yesterday was 4,214, totalling to 49,074 active cases in Malaysia.
