Martha Ossowska Persson’s Handiwork

sweetie

Yes, we made a pun. We hope that making a pun doesn’t defile the magnificent work of Swedish artist Martha Ossowska Persson though. Her previous works were varied, it included a charcoal and ink depiction of a cave, a flip book of a toy plane, and a series of hilarious drawings of Olympic free divers whose faces were frozen in odd contortions, or as she put it nicely, “an attempt to resist the laws of gravity.”  Recently, the majority of her work centre on the hands. The rubicund appendages are intertwined in a myriad of ways to create some fairly disturbing results.
