Martha Ossowska Persson’s Handiwork

Yes, we made a pun. We hope that making a pun doesn’t defile the magnificent work of Swedish artist Martha Ossowska Persson though. Her previous works were varied, it included a charcoal and ink depiction of a cave, a flip book of a toy plane, and a series of hilarious drawings of Olympic free divers whose faces were frozen in odd contortions, or as she put it nicely, “an attempt to resist the laws of gravity.”¬†¬†Recently, the majority of her work centre on the hands. The rubicund appendages are intertwined in a myriad of ways to create some fairly disturbing results.
