43 y/o M’sian Diagnosed With TB & Depression Believed To Have Jumped To His Death At Local Hospital
Hilir Perak district police chief Ahmad Adnan Basri has confirmed the incident of a local man’s apparent suicide at the Teluk Intan hospital which took place yesterday evening.
According to him, a staff member reported the matter at 3:30 a.m. this morning, noting that the Chinese-Malaysian man was single and admitted to the hospital for tuberculosis on December 31.
“The deceased was alone when the tragedy occurred in the tuberculosis special ward, and no witnesses were present. Police investigations revealed that he fell out of his ward’s window,” he stated.
In addition, the autopsy report showed that the 43-year-old suffered a fractured right hand and scarring to the chest, according to Basri.
Initial inquiries indicated that the deceased developed depression as a result of his condition, and the case has been classified as sudden death.
