Malaysians React To Anwar Ibrahim’s Shock Announcement Today With Hilarious Memes
Well, today got a lil’ bit interesting…
In case you missed it, PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announced in a sudden press conference that he has obtained “strong, formidable and convincing” support from members of Parliament to form a government, basically implying that he will be the next Prime Minister.
He also mentioned that the majority of those supporting him are “Malay-Muslim MPs”, and claimed that Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s government is practically over, according to NST.
“We are not talking four or five (majority) we are talking much more than that… Thank God I have solid and convincing support from MPs to be presented to the Agong,” he told reporters.
Anwar said he was supposed to meet the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on Tuesday but it was postponed as the King was being treated the National Heart Institute. Anwar will be meeting with the Agong as soon as he regains his health.

Long story short, Anwar pledged to form an inclusive government, despite stressing that it would still be one that is predominantly led by Bumiputera and Malay-Muslim leaders. He listed several traits that his government will possess if it gets formed, among them, being inclusive but also recognising Malay privileges.
Malaysians, however, are still trying to process this news and of course, our coping mechanism is… memes and jokes (with, weirdly enough, a lot of ‘Among Us’ references).

So, is this to be a backdoor government, a side-door government, or a revolving-door government? Depends on who you ask. Whatever it is, let us be reminded that democracy is meant to serve the rakyat and not the other way ’round.
