As a tribute to the heroes at the frontline, the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO), under the tutelage of its mentors from the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), assembled and performed the main title from Star Wars.

The video was uploaded on MPYO’s Facebook on 16 April 2020 as a way of saying thank you to the frontliners who are working tirelessly to keep us safe during this extraordinary time.

Led by MPYO Principal Conductor, Naohisa Furusawa, the Master and his Padawans performs their rendition of ‘Main Title – Star Wars Suite’, composed by the legendary John Williams.

“For all our frontliners all around Malaysia and the rest of the world. Please stay at home. Enjoy the music! May the force be with you…” writes Furusawa in the description.

Speaking to JUICE via email, they said the planning fo the performance was done after the MCO was announced on 18 March. It was a conscious decision by them to use the Star Wars main theme as it carries the theme of hope. Well, that is one amazing performance!

The Force will be with you, always.
