Macau Scam ‘King’ That Jumped MACC’s Fence, Goh Leong Yeong is Officially Wanted by PDRM
According to Harian Metro, the police are now looking for 32-year-old Goh Leong Yeong, who escaped MACC’s building by jumping over the fence when in process of being handed over to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), last Monday.
Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed said the suspect’s last known address was a condominium in Jalan Cheras.
“The suspect is wanted for three online gambling cases in Cheras. We believe that he is behind the illegal online gambling racket in Kuala Lumpur and Cheras. He was detained by the MACC due to alleged involvement in a Macau scam,” he said in a statement today.
Comm Huzir urged anyone with information to contact Cheras CID chief Deputy Supt Ahmad Zamri Jai at 012-899 3622 or investigating officer Insp Muhamad Faizal Asuar at 017-312 6411 or to contact any police station.
While many thought the Datuk Seri who jumped over the fence was someone else, Comm Huzir ensured that the other three suspects are in custody of PDRM and have been detained under Section 4(1)(a) of the Prevention of Crime Act (Poca) from 14 Oct until 3rd Nov.
“They were detained for allegedly being involved in hosting online gambling in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. They were detained right after they were released by the MACC recently,” he said.
Comm Huzir said that the three were previously detained by the MACC due to their involvement in the Macau Scam.
He also noted that, “The cooperation of the public is much appreciated.”
