Lil Asian Thiccie and dj magn3sium are back with another dose of beautifully chaotic pop.

The Kuala Lumpur-based singer, rapper, and songwriter and Sarawakian producer-DJ, formerly known as Alextbh, are marking a year since their collaborative debut EP, DVD-R, with DVD-R: XTENDDD.

Serving as a B-side to last year’s release, XTENDDD revisits the duo’s knack for capturing the highs, crashes, and comedown of a night out, this time with a slightly more sentimental edge. Across its four tracks, the project gets into familiar territory: self-doubt, longing, overthinking, and, naturally, dancing your way through it all.

Much like its predecessor, XTENDDD isn’t particularly interested in keeping its sounds in neat little boxes. The tracks pull from different corners of pop and electronic music, throwing together influences that shouldn’t necessarily work on paper but somehow click once they’re in motion.

It’s messy, loud, and catchy by design, expanding the world of DVD-R without sanding down any of the unruly energy that made the original so much fun.

The focus track, ‘i can’t sing’, leans into the glossy excess of late-2000s and early-2010s pop radio.

With shades of Blackout-era maximalism and the melodic sensibilities of Mike Posner, the track pairs a sentimental streak with an immediately addictive hook. It’s introspective without getting bogged down in its own feelings, and somehow turns a little self-doubt into something that belongs just as comfortably on a dancefloor.

Following their appearance at AXEAN Festival 2026, Lil Asian Thiccie and dj magn3sium are taking DVD-R: XTENDDD beyond its original Bandcamp release, with the project now officially available across digital streaming platforms.

The project’s visual assets were created with support from Nothing, using Nothing’s technology to build out its visual world.

DVD-R: XTENDDD is out on all streaming platforms from 1 October 2026.
