WATCH: Korean Remake of ‘Money Heist’ Will Star Park Hae-Soo From ‘Squid Game’

It’s definitely all about the ringgit… or in this case, the won. Either way, Squid Game star, Park Hae-Soo is about to be raking in a lot of it.

Just yesterday (1 Dec), the casting for the Korean remake of Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) was revealed through a short introductory video by Netflix, featuring the actor.

In the 1-minute clip, Park introduced himself as ‘Berlin’ and confirmed the release of the Korean remake of the hit series in 2022. So far, Park is the first cast member of the Korean version to be announced.

The news hits as the original series approaches the conclusion of its five-year run on 3 Dec, alongside Netflix revealing that Berlin is set to appear in an origin story spin-off scheduled for 2023.

“In the past five years, fans around the world have shown their love for the series. I hope our Korean version also receives your love and support,” said Park in a video message, dressed in a dapper suit and holding one of the show’s signature heist masks.

“It is an honour for me to participate in such a wonderful series and above all to make Berlin an amazing character. I’m sure the rest of the cast of the Korean version feels the same way as I do,” he said.

Judging by his dramatic acting ability and keeping it all in the theme of ‘anything for money’, Park is sure to be an excellent choice in the role of Berlin for the Korean remake of Money Heist.
