King Charles III Spotlights Siti Nurhaliza in New Apple Music Playlist

His Majesty King Charles III has given music lovers a rare glimpse into his personal playlist with The King’s Music Room, a special Apple Music 1 programme celebrating artists from across the Commonwealth.

Recorded in his office at Buckingham Palace, the show highlights songs that have shaped his life—ranging from classic crooners of the 1930s to modern Afrobeats, disco, reggae, and beyond.

But one standout addition to his playlist will definitely have Malaysians swelling with pride—Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza’s ‘Anta Permana’.

“A story about love that is stronger than time.”

‘Anta Permana’ is a 2018 hit blending traditional Malay sounds with contemporary pop, appearing at the 43-minute mark if you’re listening to the full-run of the show on Apple Music. It also appears in a regular playlist titled, “His Majesty King Charles III’s Playlist“.

In his narrations in between songs, King Charles III muses his emotional connections to the artists and their work, showing a more down-to-Earth side of the monarch.

“The next piece is by the outstanding Malaysian artist, Siti Nurhaliza,” King Charles III shares 43 minutes in. “It is called ‘Anta Permana’ and it tells a story about love that is stronger than time.”

Alongside Siti Nurhaliza, the King’s selections include reggae legend Bob Marley, disco queen Diana Ross, pop icon Kylie Minogue, and even Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage.

His choices reflect not just his personal taste, but also a broader appreciation for the cultural diversity of the Commonwealth (with American singer Diana Ross being an exception).
