Within the same month of his debut as a radio announcer (KJ the DJ) on Hot FM, former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin is making headlines again as he accepts yet another job offer following his sacking from UMNO.

This time, the ex-minister expresses that he can “more or less confirm” that he will be appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Johor Darul Ta’zim Club (JDT) and also a Johor Youth Advisor.

“Thank you TMJ (Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim) for inviting me to be part of JDT. This team is indeed the best team in Malaysia. God willing, in the near future we will announce my involvement in JDT. More or less, it is confirmed. This matter is serious, not a joke.

“When I announced that I would be a Hot FM DJ, people thought that I was joking, not serious. But this morning, I was there,” he said this morning, while hosting his first show on the radio station.

This matter was previously addressed by the owner of JDT Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrtahim himself, when a post on his personal Instagram story offering Khairy a job caused a stir on social media. Khairy responded to the matter in a way which appeared to imply acceptance of the invitation to join the JDT group.

“I met with Khairy Jamaluddin and decided to appoint him to the board of directors of the Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club as well as the position of Johor Youth Advisor,” said Tunku Ismail.

According to another statement on Tunku Ismail’s profile, “(Khairy’s) considerable experience in numerous disciplines in this country will contribute value to the development of youth as well as the advancement of football in Johor.”

Khairy was also congratulated by the JDT via a statement on their official website and social media pages.

“The Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club would like to greet and congratulate Khairy on his selection as one of the club’s Board of Directors following the announcement made by the club’s owner, DYAM Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Crown Prince of Johor.

“JDT also extends its congratulations to Khairy on being named Johor Youth Advisor. Expand your impact, Johor,” read the press statement.

This hiring will undoubtedly provide the nine-time Super League winner a new perspective as he prepares for the upcoming season, which is set to commence on February 24, 2023!

We wish you the best of luck, KJ.
