The grand prize is the all-new Huawei P30 Pro, while other awesome prizes up for grabs include the Huawei Nova 4, Huawei Watch GT (46mm), and more.

Get creative and showcase your photography skills with your Huawei* smartphone!

*All photos must be taken with a Huawei smartphone, and must include the watermark feature.

You can also stand the chance to win USD20,000 and other fantastic prizes by submitting your Huawei photos to the NEXT Image Awards!

Started in 2017, the Huawei NEXT Image Awards is committed to exploring possibilities for a new generation of visual culture together with mobile phone users worldwide. ‘NEXT’ refers to the next generation of photographers using next generation tools to spread the next generation of content. ‘Image’ refers to dynamic visual expression.

Participants may submit up to 30 photos per account.

Photos for the NEXT Image Awards can be submitted into more than one of six conceptual categories:

1. Faces

Use your Huawei smartphone to experiment with identity and the power of portraiture. As long as there’s a face in focus, you’ve got this category down!

2. Going the Distance

Discovering new places and new experiences by making use of innovative smartphone camera features such as the tele-lens, super wide angle, or macro lens. If you’re out and about, especially on road trips or holidays, or if you’re just wandering the streets, you’re bound to come across a scene that fits into this photo category.

3. Hello, Life!

In the everyday experiences we go through, there are certain emotions or inspirations that are shared. Whether it’s the mundane or the extraordinary, there’s emotion and inspiration in everything around us.

4. Storyboard

Telling a story in nine frames – a grid of photos that develop a meaningful and intriguing narrative. Storytelling through the lens of a Huawei smartphone camera.

They say a picture tells a thousand words. So, what about nine pictures? 🙂

5. #Emotion Tag

Expressing instant emotions by means of photography. There doesn’t necessarily have to be a face in this conceptual category, as long as emotions are evoked by whatever subject is being emphasised. This can also include landscapes and other types of photographic compositions.

6. Life Now

Filming bite-sized videos (30 seconds or less). Whether you’re people-watching, laying in bed and staring at the ceiling, or taking in the majestic beauty of nature, there are many opportunities to record a short video for this category.
