Everyone’s always vying for the window seat, correct? If you haven’t been jaded by the whole process of flying and still retain a sense of wonderment and romanticism about it, then Jim Darling‘s latest work will fuel that interest further. As he is both humbled and fascinated by the experience enabled by flying while in a window seat, Darling has painted a slew of landscapes and views as one would have the privilege of seeing while peering through the small opening in a metal bird in the sky. The individual pieces of art have layered woodwork, acrylic, and aerosol to build the trompe l’oeil nature, which is a technique to evoke a sense of realism in each piece.
