It’s the End of the World as We Know It, and We Feel Fine: Part IV
Based on what went down in 2011, I believe 2012 could trump it hands down! We’ve had so many interesting things happened last year like promoters bringing down a slew of first timers in KL like Crookers, Funkagenda, Moguai, Mat Zo, LMFAO, Gossip and more. 2012 will definitely continue where the past year left off.
I expect to see more debuts by DJs, singers and bands this year. We’ve already heard stories about Future Music Festival Asia heading to the region and really, that is quite a big step in the industry. As for music, I really do believe that it’s going to be super exciting as well with so many merges of music. For instance, the new Swedish House Mafia vs. Knife Party track, ‘Antidote’; a combination of big room sounds with dubstep never sounded so good! Having said that, I also think that it’s going to be a huge year for the dubstep scene.
I think the fact that some of its artists like Nero, Skrillex and Magnetic Man going mainstream without compromising the quality of the music itself play a big role in making it accepted by a larger audience. 2012 will definitely be a great year for events and concerts in KL!
